Letter to Rep. Joe Baca’s Office Regarding Game Warning Label
Today, League For Gamers sent a letter (below) to Representative Joe Baca’s office that addresses the House Resolution that will put warning labels on all video games rated “E” and above. In the letter, which was sent to his Washington DC and southern California offices, we request a meeting with Baca, asking for the research that led to his conclusion that violence is tied to video games. According to the label that is proposed by H.R. 4204, exposure to video games is linked to aggressive behavior. We at League For Gamers hope to discuss this assumed link, and would like Representative Baca to provide the evidence that backs the correlation.
Instead of formally petitioning Representative Baca, we chose to reach out and arrange a meeting. We hope that this will spur a discussion about the warning label and the recent vilification of all games. Under this House Resolution, games such as Tetris and Zumba Fitness will carry this warning label. We encourage our fellow League For Gamers members to reach out to Representative Baca and Representative Wolf, and inquire about their position on this issue. We will keep you updated on our communication with Representative Baca.

It’s these types of laws that are scary to me. It shows how much control the gov’t has over our daily lives I’m glad someone’s fighting for our rights.
