Victory! Oklahoma’s HB 2696 Is No More!
POSTED BY Kari // February 24, 2012 // 4 responses
Because of you, Oklahoma’s proposed bill HB 2696 has been rejected! Despite an effort by Representative Fourkiller to push through changed legislation, the bill was defeated by the House Revenue and Tax Subcommittee. Although the original intention to impose a 1% tax on all games rated Teen and above was removed from the bill, HB 2696 continued to assume a correlation between violence and video games. We are excited for this victory, and we have once again demonstrated a united voice against attempts to reduce our rights.
Let’s continue to be heard!
