Any possibility of getting that controller without having to kill you first?

      >implying a gamer would ever give away his controller

Not his controller, that specific controller design. It’s pretty awesome, they should sell these.

Great stuff Mark! I’m quite bummed I didn’t get to meet you when I was at the studio. But thank you so much for that opportunity and for everything you and Red 5 have done!

    Hello people.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the fight has moved to other countries. In Europe, they are fighting against the ACTA, which is a US driven copyright bill that was signed (unconstitutionally) by Obama earlier last year. We have Spain that has the Sinde law which was passed, which is SOPA-lite. In the Netherlands, they are dealing with the literal censorship of the Pirate Bay (which is not very effective). And in New Zealand, we’ve had the arrest of Kim Dotcom for having the audacity of allowing artists to have 90% revenue share for their business.

In other fronts, it’s confirmed that gamers are being bullied by certain developers such as Square Enix, Blizzard, Koch Media, and even Ubisoft, using faulty information to figure out names and shake people down for money.

The problem of copyright law allowing legalized shakedown and extortion is very great and I’m glad someone is speaking out about it. It’s high time that more people are aware of what goes on in the name of copyright law and how it disproportionately affects gamers particularly.

I Love this idea. Thanks for sharing Mark Kern. :)

Thanks for the info Jay. League For Gamers is a great idea, and gamers need more organisations like this to try and ward off these greedy companies by trying to make the internet their own.

Sure, piracy needs to be stopped, but it’s terrible that legit gamers will be affected by these laws. Gamers pay alot of money for their games and yet some of these games companies will happily treat them as dirt.

  14. Sunsun January 22, 2012 at 2:44 pm ·

How despicable !! That some of those game companies have been taking our money ,and then dump us !

  15. Taiphoz January 22, 2012 at 4:35 pm ·

Any chance of getting a WordPress Widget with the league logo so that other WordPress and website owners can put a widget linking here on their own websites?

    You know to show support.

I wonder, after all this SOPA, PIPA, and hopefully ACTA issues pass away and we somehow make it through safely, what will become of the League for Gamers? Will there be any plans for it to transform into something else at the end of this chapter?

Ah, I wish I could compile a little banner with many different game characters to put behind that logo, but it’d probably be labeled as copyright.

  18. Devil's Advocate January 24, 2012 at 6:37 am ·

Yeah, “Typhon” behind LFG logo ? Cool !!!

  19. Hakaishin January 24, 2012 at 7:35 pm ·

I don’t believe I could have created a more clear and concise message to the gaming community, the development community, or our legislature.

    Well done.
